Kitchen - Complete!
I'm done!
After my embarrassing gaffah, I had to back track to make things right.
The Dremel came to the rescue and made removing the paint easy.
A little wood filler, even a little spackle came in handy. A light sand, reprime and repaint and we were back in business. I put the last of the cabinets up and painted the trim above the backsplash.
So here we go:
And here's some still photos:
Not bad, eh?
What I learned from this reno:
1. Number your cabinets to avoid "errors"...really, do it, you'll be glad
2. Red is a "progressive colour" - aka, lots of coats
3. Just because certain sized screws comes with your knobs, doesn't mean that they will fit all cabinets
4. Use a level to hang your cabinets - your cabinet frame may look straight but that doesn't mean it is
5. Spray paint is a serious money saver! - reuse brackets to save money
And lastly, redoing your kitchen takes a lot of time, energy and paint stripper...so if you decide to give this a whirl, be sure you have the time, the tools and the patience...because it doesn't happen overnight.
Well, the "fun" doesn't stop here. Time to move on to the foyer, upper and lower hallways and the stairs...*sigh*
EDIT - Forgot to include a comparison photo. This was the before:
